Homeschooling Laws
or with local officials to make sure you turn in all required paperwork to be on the safe side.
Question #2 - Do I Have to be a Certified Teacher to Homeschool? No. State to state regulations do vary, but legally, you do not have to have to be a certified teacher to educate your children at home. Do you need to be a certified teacher to be "capable" of teaching your children? No. As long as you take your child's education seriously and educate yourself about about teaching your child, you can do it. Don't let the "experts" tell you that you aren't qualified.
No one knows your child better than you and no one loves your child more than you. You have your child's best interest at heart and that is the key to your success as your child's teacher.
Question #3 - Where Do I Get Homeschool Curriculum to Teach My Children? Once upon a time, home schooling was virtually unheard of now...it has become big business and the problem isn't being able to find books to use for home schooling, it's weeding through them to find the right ones for your children. There is a multitude of different homeschool materials to choose from. All you have to do is to check out our

Question #4 - Does Home Schooling Take all Day? When parents are wondering how to homeschool, they often wonder exactly how much of their time it is going to take. Your children will actually spend less time "doing" school than they will if they were at public school. When home schooling, you have to take into consideration that you only have a few "students" not a roomful with several that won't behave. This cuts teaching time. You don't have the time that it takes to change classes and for the teachers to take roll. If you cut all of the wasted time out of the school day and just add up the actual time that your children are learning and studying, it is much less. Many elementary age children are through by lunch time and while it takes high school homeschoolers longer because their studies are much more indepth, they still don't have the homework at night, so their time is cut considerably also.
Question #5 - Can I Homeschool Through High School? Yes. How to homeschool your your high schoolers is a question many parents ask. Homeschooling your high school students has many benefits. Many times, they can go ahead and take college classes and receive college credits and get ahead. The subjects are harder, but there are so many resources available to homeschoolers now that you won't have any problem finding a way to teach your child the harder courses. By the time your child has reached high school, they will be doing most of their schoolwork independently. This actually prepares them for success at college and in life. Our children need to have the mindset that learning is a life-long process and by teaching them to have the discipline to study and learn on their own, you are preparing them for their future.
Question #6 - Will My Child Graduate with a Diploma?Your home school covering will issue a diploma based on their requirements. Graduation ceremonies differ depending on the covering you use.
Question #7 - Will My Children Be Able to Go to College? Yes. As a matter of fact, homeschool kids do so well at college that many colleges seek out homeschoolers now. 2/3 of all homeschoolers go on to college.
